Through our wonderfully talented executive board we are able to create those miracles for our Riley children, and bring hope to their families and the community around us. With the help of our executives our mission of making miracles come to life.
Meg Brownley (2018)
I am so honored to be the President of SMCDM this year. I’m from Grand Rapids, Michigan and I am a senior studying Communication Studies with minors in Public Relations and Studio Art. My first experience with Dance Marathon was in high school. My school hosted at 24 hour Dance Marathon and within the first few hours I was hooked. Throughout my time at Saint Mary’s, I have been involved with DM each year. From a public relations committee member, to technology executive, and now president, I can safely say that SMCDM has become my family. This club has inspired me to work for a non-profit organization after graduation. As the President of SMCDM, I am committed to spreading Riley’s message of Hope to the entire South Bend community and doing everything in my power to help us exceed our fundraising goal. I DM to give hope to the kids at Riley who are fighting for their lives each and every day. I DM for the parents, nurses, and doctors who spend countless hours taking care of these children. I DM because it brings together a group of people who are all fighting for one goal. I DM to inspire and to be inspired by the kids at Riley.
Kelly Geelan (2018)
I am honored to serve as a Vice-President of SMCDM for the 2017-2018 year! I am from Connecticut and a senior Social Work major. This will be my fourth year with Dance Marathon and my second year on the Executive Board. For the past three years I have worked on fundraising and this year I will be working with all of the finances. SMCDM is truly an amazing organization not just because of the impact it makes but because of the relationships that it builds. The Riley Hospital for Children and the Children’s Miracle Network provide the opportunity for every family to access incredible care. SMCDM provides the opportunity for every college student to fill their life with meaning, make the world a better place and form bonds that will last a lifetime. I am so proud to be a part of such an impactful organization. I love DM because it truly is a place where miracles happen. I am so excited for this year and look forward to working with all of the members of our DM family and the Riley Children’s Foundation. FTK all day!

I DM to positively impact and support as many of the kids and families at Riley Children’s Hospital as possible. These are the people that inspire me, and for that reason I dance to find a cure and to make a difference in the lives of such deserving people!

Madelyn Kostielney (2019)
Hey there, Madelyn Kostielney here! I’m a Junior Nursing student here at SMC. I’m the Catering executive for the 2017-2018 Dance Marathon, and couldn’t be more excited!! I DM for my cousin Samantha who lost her battle to Leukemia when we were kids. I fundraise and dance for all the children, like Samantha, and their family’s that are going through one of the toughest battles they will ever endure. If we can each bring a smile and a little joy to one person, then it is all worth it 🙂
Ellie Schwegel (2019)

Katherine Soper (2018)
I am ecstatic to be the Co-Recruitment Executive for this year’s Dance Marathon. My passion FOR THE KIDS started my freshman year at SMC when I was on the High School Outreach Committee and continued into my sophomore and junior year as I became more involved and in love with SMC Dance Marathon! I look forward to meeting and working with new, returning, and past participants of SMC DM and can’t wait to have a year filled with excitement and fundraising FOR THE KIDS!

Claire Guffy (2019)
FTK FTK! I’m a Junior Nursing major who fell in love with DM last year after being on the Catering Committee. Last year, I witnessed the genuine selflessness and courage of all the participants during and leading up to the marathon, and I also had the opportunity to chop 8 inches off my hair! This year I’m back and I’ll be the Technology executive! I’m so excited to be a part of this amazing experience again and to help the Riley Kids. Dance Marathon brings me so much joy and happiness in my heart, and I can’t wait to blow up social media posting all about it
Shannon Witt (2018)
I am a Senior Nursing major and the Riley Outreach executive this year for Dance Marathon. I DM because I love the positive and hopeful energy SMCDM creates. You can feel the positive atmosphere at all of the DM events, and you can tell they give hope to everyone present, including other DM members, students, parents, and Riley families. The kids at Riley Hospital deserve the world, and it makes so happy that SMCDM raises money so they can get what they are in most need of, whether that is medical equipment, toys, or a simple smile. Above all, I love how everything DM does is FTK 🙂
Alania Murphy (2018)
My name is Alaina Murphy, and I’m a Senior Accounting major with a concentration in Marketing. This year, I’m the Personal Relation executive, and I DM because every child deserves the chance to be a kid!

Anna Baran (2019)
Meet one of the Morale executives, Anna Baran! I am a Junior Nursing major who has been a part of the Morale committee for the past three years. I love to DM because to me, it’s incredible how a small school like Saint Mary’s can positively impact not only the children being treated but their families as well. I cannot wait for this year’s Dance Marathon because I believes if we make our voices heart and use our passion, we can reach our fundraising goals!
Stephanie Stapleton (2018)
I am a Senior Studio Art major at Saint Mary’s, and the High School Outreach exec for the 2017-2018 school year! A long time member, I have been a part of various committees since my freshman year here at SMC. Dance Marathon is a cause close to my heart as my brother was a Riley kid (and is now healthy and all grown up thanks to Riley’s Hospital for Children!) I also love DM because of the universality of the cause; my favorite moments are those in which Riley can help brighten a child’s life because of the combined efforts of all the DM programs around the United States. I cherish the love, belief, and passion all DM members have for the cause. I am looking forward to new adventures with the 2018 DM crew, and cannot wait to get to know our Riley families a little bit better!
Gracie Burchett (2019)
I am a Junior Accounting major, and this year I will be the Corporate Sponsorships executive for SMC-DM! I DM because SMCDM redefines the idea of a “fundraiser.” Through SMCDM’s efforts the kids at Riley and their families are given hope and support. I DM because no cause could be more important than helping kids.
FTK all DM day!!!
Grace Ward (2019)
